About Yoav Efron

Fron a Jazz Pianist, playing his original compositions and many others with a couple
of Jazz groups and bands, Yoav’s musical career took a turn to the backstage of the music world focusing on composition and music production. After practicing Jazz for almost 7 years (and 5 years of classical piano before that) with several original Modern Jazz compositions, Yoav’s delightful play with poly-rhythmics lead him to Progressive Rock, and from there, the road to Progressive Metal was inevitable.

Today (2009), 3 years after graduating from Rimon School for Jazz & Contemporary Music majoring in Classical Composition & Film Scoring, Yoav is working on 3 major metal projects
and has composed original scores to several movies including a full orchestral score for “Dentopia” – a 30 minutes animated film by Ronen Zhurat, an orchestral score plus a minimalistic arrangement
for piano and vocals (with the amazing voice of Tammy Scheffer) for “Golem”, a beautiful short 3D animation
by Alon Boroda & Ron Nadel – winner of the Assif Festival 2006 best student film award,
and to a couple of other student films, collaborating with cinema students from the Tel Aviv Academy
and the Jerusalem Music Academy (Hebrew University).

Yoav’s current projects include an original Progressive Metal project by the name of “Distorted Harmony”, “Orpheus Blade” by Adi Cohen and “Mantis”, an experimental Heavy Metal project.
